First Day at Work
|
Today is my first day at work for the upcoming shows in The Arena. The show is called Ultimate Magic, which is going to be the first permanent magic show in Singapore. The soft launch will be in August, where preview tickets are already on sales at Sistic, while the full launch will be in Sep.
On the 5th July, there will be a intro show at Clarke Quay featuring Magic Babe Ning for the Impalement Cage illusion. Its pretty tough for a girl to do such an escape in full view but she's good, who cares. LOL!!
Okie, back to today, went down to the studio as we prepare to move most of the stuffs over, its hell lot of things, and knowing that i had a 2 days senior camp before this, my whole body is like under handicap of 20%.
But well, we manage to move everything over by 1130, where by we unloaded and start working on them. Here are the photos for your pleasure.
This is a photo of Ning and JC and of course, all the illusions that we are using for the shows to come. I personally like the Revelation, no special reason, but some feeling that I had. Other illusions like Crystal Metamorphosis, Extreme Burn, Full throttle, etc will be featured. After packing, this is what happened.
As you can see, the backstage is fully packed with our stuff, BUT! Its not all, there is another one coming, which is the smoke chamber. So I don't have the photo here.
Anyway, my job for this job is to take care of the flow of the whole program, and the well-being of all the props, in short, the stage manager for these shows. Hmm, to me, its not a new thing as I have been doing logistics for many years, camps, work, NS etc. And also, my background as a mechanical and electronic student and for my FYPs in my study years, make me a strong character for this job, as there are many things that are related and if anything went wrong, I won't panic that much also.
So the new thing for my job will be understanding the props, and making sure everything is good before and after show, repairs if needed, and fulfilling the expectations of my boss cum mentor, JC Sum.
